First trip to camp

With the heat wave, it was best to get out of dodge and so we headed up to Maine for a few days at the lake.

On the drive up, the girls watched a movie...Emme was using my hat to block the sun...she looked pretty funny!

It was a hot day so we went straight out for a boat ride and swim!

 Emme was not interested in swimming (we tried putting her in and she was not happy about it), but she was more than happy to watch all of us jump off of the boat and thought it was so funny when Daddy did a cannonball.

 The next morning, we went out for a boat ride to get some coffee (for Joe and I obviously) and then found another swimming spot where there was a sandbar in the lake.  Joe and Hannah went first and then Emme told me she wanted to go so I swam her out to them.  She had a lot of fun and we were so proud of her for finally wanting to get in the water to swim.  She likes swimming, but it is a bit daunting to go off the side of a boat into a big lake.  Joe took this picture from the boat that he had to swim to catch b/c the anchor must have come out when he dove off the side.

 Later that afternoon...another boat ride, another swimming spot.  We finally remembered to bring the noodles which made hanging out in the water a whole lot easier!  Emme again wanted to swim...and Hannah is getting more and more adventurous with her jumps off the boat. 

 And then on to relaxing at camp.  Emme's sandy hands...even though there is a lake to wash her hands off in, she insisted on going inside to wash them.  OCD?

We had a really nice relaxing time as always and can't wait to spend more time there this Summer!
