Remodel - Week 1
Here we go again...almost exactly 3 years after the start of remodeling the first floor, we have moved on to the 2nd floor. What was originally going to be just an existing bathroom remodel has turned into a much much bigger project...remodeling the entire master bedroom and girls' room. What we'll get is a new bathroom, a new "walk-in" closet in place of the existing bathroom, a larger master bedroom (taking down existing closets), and a larger bedroom for the girls.
Here are the before pictures of the outside. One of the reasons we're doing the addition is because we don't like the flat roof of the addition. Our contractor said it was the only option...we're not using the same contractor.
Emme's side.
After a week+ of construction.

The girls room...you can see the existing wall and the "new wall" a few feet behind it. Even as I write this, I think the old wall has come down.

Our new bathroom. Our old bathroom window is boarded up on the right. The picture shows where our new shower and bathtub will be with a window over the bathtub.
It is very exciting to finally start the work. There have been many months full of research and decision after decision...who knew so many decisions went into a bathroom. And anyone that knows me, especially Joe, knows that I have a horrible time making decisions! Even seemingly simple decisions will take me days/weeks. I've had a few great friends to help and of course, my "bathroom husband"...better known as Matthew, our contractor! And Joe did throw in a few suggestions/opinions along the way. I think we have 1 decision left...lighting...and then done! Can't wait to see it all come together!
