Toothless
We had quite a day yesterday! What was supposed to be a beautiful day gardening, going to the playground turned into a 5 hr ordeal that ended with an impromptu visit from the tooth fairy.
To start....while playing on the parallel bars at our local playground, Hannah fell and hit one of the bars squarely with her mouth (namely her front teeth and gums). There was a lot of blood and we could quickly tell she needed to see the dentist.
After she stopped the initial crying, she was even kind enough to smile for a picture before she left to go to our local dentist with her Daddy.
Mommy and Hannah hanging out.

Little Emme was such a trooper too. Mommy woke her up from her nap so that we could all go with Hannah. Plus, she had taken a small tumble at the playground as well and hurt her lip...all teeth in tact.

We finally made it in to see the dentist! As suspected, teeth were definitely loose and the roots of the front two were not in tact (both from the fall and her thumb sucking habit) so the best option was to take them out. Hannah was a bit nervous when we explained that her teeth were coming out but the dentist did a great job explaining everything to her and was ingenious when she told Hannah she had to shine the light right on her face and into her eyes so she should close them when she took out the needle. Hannah never even knew a needle was involved. The dentist told Hannah that she forgot to cut her nails and she might feel her sharp nails as she lifted her upper lip. Hannah told her she should probably cut them when she got home. Too cute! The actual extraction wasn't pleasant for Hannah or us to watch although the dentist said Hannah was terrific and was actually a very easy patient. So brave!

All done! Treasure chest with her 2 front teeth...all ready for the tooth fairy.
