4th of July at Camp
We spent the 4th of July at camp this year with a clambake and lots of fun!
First of all, Hannah was the only child this year other than Mikki who is almost 13 and so doesn't really count as a child anymore. To Hannah, there were a sea of adults for prime swing pushing and attention! And she loved it!
We started our day with a leisurely boat ride.
Mommy, Hannah, and Mikki
Holding onto Nana when we were going fast. It depends on her mood whether she likes to go fast.
Lounging on the beach. We had beautiful weather all weekend.
Then came lobster! She had no fear of the live lobsters and was more than willing to pick them up for a photo op.
Hannah using the lobster crackers (not sure what they are really called) as chopsticks to eat her lobster.
After our lobster and clam feast (which Hannah loved, clams more than the lobster), it was time for watermelon.
The sun hits the beach perfectly in the afternoon, so it was a perfect time for playing in the water! Hannah loved jumping off of the dock into the water.
As the sun went down, we toasted marshmallows for s'mores on the beach. Yummy!
And then time for sparklers (TNT, of course) before the big fireworks show!
Joe, with Mikki's organizational skills (she lined up all of the fireworks in order), set off a wonderful fireworks display from the dock! It was really cool and as Hannah told me, she was only "a little scared" because of the noise. The whole night sky was alight with fireworks from all of the other camps on the lake! It was fantastic to see!
