Operation Patio

This weekend we finished our patio and wall project! Hooray! It was a lot of work (done mostly by Joe, of course), but well worth it! And we're very pleased with how it turned out...

A lot of cobblestones!


After digging the foundation, we laid 5 inches of gravel

Before we could start laying the stones, we had to separate them by shape. We got the circular design so there were 5 different shapes to sort. Hannah really liked helping. Always the cheesy girl.


After gravel, an inch of sand and finally the stones. Midway through.Hannah, always helpful, getting her Daddy a beer and even "trying" to open it.

Taking a break on one of the days to help June water her garden.

After patio was done, helping Daddy plant some vegetables.

Then onto helping Mommy plant some flowers.

The finished patio!! (the next project is to redo the stairs so that they come to the patio)

And the finished wall! which Hannah already uses as a balance beam.
