California beaches

If Joe had his way, we would've been at the beach every day. And while this didn't happen, we did make a few trips to the beach.

First beach trip to San Diego where we ate a picnic lunch of Roberto's on the beach and frolicked in the sand. Hannah loves the beach as much as Joe (maybe more) and was the first to go into the icy cold water.

Emme is a little more like her Mommy and was very hesitant about everything the beach had to offer...cold water and sand.
She eventually came around, but initially would not allow Joe to even dip her feet in the water.

Mommy and Emme, our shy girl.
Now she's happy!

It wouldn't be a day at the beach without Hannah being buried by Daddy.

The sand was so dark and dense that her whole body was covered in it.
Posing proudly with her "sand castle"

After a day at the beach, Daddy and Emme needed a nap!

Second trip to the beach...Laguna. We started with a wonderful lunch right on the water. Family picture. Hannah was grumpy (probably because we weren't playing in the sand yet).

Now it's time for some fun in the sand. Hannah still grumpy (probably because I made her sit still long enough to take this picture).

Gramps and Hannah building their sand castle.

Emme and Gramma taking a snooze. Gramma wasn't really sleeping. I laid Emme down on the towel, she buried herself, and then slept for at least an hour.

After the beach, we went to my cousin Jen's house for dinner. It was so great to see them and meet their latest addition, Ian!

Such a happy baby!!!!

After playing at the playground and dinner, Hannah and Ryan played a game. Very intently!

But there's always time for a photo!
