Construction - Week 12
It's been a month since our last construction update and finally we can actually see a few changes (all within the last week or so). A lot has been happening although not all visible. We got our new boiler installed switching from oil heating to gas (much more energy efficient!). Our washer and dryer are both up and working! YEAH! The electrician has done most of his work and created more outlets in the old part of the kitchen and made it so that the 3 switches we have to the kitchen don't turn on all the lights at once - as they used to (again, more energy efficient!).
On our end, Joe and I have picked out our granite counter tops, bought new sinks and fixtures, bought our new stove and range hood, started to pick out tile and paint color, and finalized the kitchen design (it's about time). We still have yet to really look at carpet for the family room, but there's still time. Now onto the pictures....
The standard. Notice the windows!!! So exciting. No more dungeon. Of course, they were terribly late in getting here and primed to paint (we wanted to stain them) and we wanted 6 panes on top....but they are here and we're taking it!
From a different angle. We put the old slider from Hannah's play room into the kitchen.
From the inside. Slider is kitchen eating area. Door is "mud room". The 3 windows are family room. Toilet is currently just hanging out in the middle.
