4th of July

Happy 4th of July!

We started out our day on a bike ride to Lexington along the Minuteman bike path. (historic trivia: in 1775 the American Revolution started along the historic corridor where the Minuteman Bikeway passes today). The bike path is an 11 mile stretch connecting Cambridge to Bedford. We picked it up in Arlington and rode it to Lexington (about 7-8 miles) where we thought there was a carnival (well, there was but it was 11a and it opened at 1p...oops). Instead we played at the park and then had lunch in Lexington Center before biking home.

After Hannah's nap , the plan was to go to the pool but with rain inevitable , we opted for a little gardening instead. Hannah helped too! So much for toys, she was more than happy to play with our recyclables in the dirt.
And here's Joe and my self-portrait (can you tell Joe was really excited to get his picture taken?)...
Being silly...
We were outside enjoying a beer before we bbq'd when the rain started. Hannah and I went inside while Joe bbq'd.

Watermelon. yum.
