Day 13

Hannah got her passport pictures taken today. We just did it in the playroom, with Olga, our translator, as the photographer. First, we took our family picture, which was pretty quick, two tries. And then, just Hannah…I think we finally got a good one at about the 15th take. After that, it was a fairly slow picture day. Her smiles were few today as she was in a cranky mood. We really think it is the chaos of the room that makes her cranky. There are at least 20 adults with 10 babies/toddlers in the room. It’s still too cold to go outside (although it’s getting warmer) so we took her for a walk of the halls. That calmed her down a little. Again, we can’t wait to bring her home and move on to the reality of having a child….

Joe loves this picture of Hannah sleeping with a toy in her mouth from yesterday. We had trouble uploading 3 pictures to the blog yesterday so here it is today….

We only get 1 visit today so this afternoon we are going bowling with some of the other families, the same ones we went to the circus with. The families we usually do things with are actually families adopting older children. It works a little differently, in so far as their children come and live with them in their apt. during their bonding period. We’ve also realized that each translator/coordinator does things differently and you can never compare between translators. We are lucky because our translator gives us a lot of freedom to do what we want, eat where we want, walk where we want, etc. The families we met with older children use Olga too. Olga will also bring children from the orphanages that the other families are adopting from (friends of the children being adopted) to do things with us. Fun should be had by all (even though I hate bowling!). : )
