Day 11

Our morning started with Hannah in a grumpy mood. Which put daddy in a grumpy mood. Which put mommy in a grumpy mood. Pretty much all she wanted was to be held. By 11am she was out (all snuggled up to her daddy).

During our afternoon break, we decided to get some “fresh” air and go for a walk. (The air here is very polluted from the cars and smells terrible!) We stopped at a store and found some Kazakh souvenirs for Hannah! A little painting for her wall and a doll dressed in Kazakh costume. We are hoping to buy her a few things from Kazakhstan so that she can have them as she grows up. We’ve also been taking lots of video and pictures!

The afternoon with Hannah went much better than the morning. She was in a good mood again. We don’t think she’s a morning person (which neither are we so she’ll fit in just fine). Unfortunately, none of the pictures turned out very well.

We had an interesting journey home from the orphanage as Cheryl (another adoptive mom here) was going out to dinner with our neighbors so rode home with us. There were 6 of us in a little Audi, me sitting on Joe’s lap. Did we mention every time we are in the car, our driver has our lives in his hands? Literally! Traffic rules are not followed too much here and usually Vladimir (our driver) has to drive on the opposite side of the road to avoid the huge potholes! By the time we got home, Joe’s legs were numb and my head hurt from all of the bouncing around.
