We went to Shelburne Farm in Stow, MA for some Fall apple picking fun! Crazy enough, the weather felt more like Summer reaching almost 80 degrees, but it was still a lot of fun!
Shelburne Farm is definitely geared towards family with children. While we usually avoid the orchards with all of the "bells and whistles", this year I thought it would be fun!
On our walk from the parking lot, we got to see some animals.

A hay maze to get to the haystack. Hannah went in strong (leading Emme by the hand) but then quickly got stuck and went back to the beginning to start again.

But she found the haystack!

And quickly climbed to the top! Emme went to the top with Daddy, but was not happy about it and quickly had Daddy carry her back down.

Hannah had her own method of getting down...rolling.

Checking out the goats.

And then onto the "tractor" rides!

And moon bounce. Hannah loves bouncing around!

While Emme preferred to stay on the sidelines..staying as close to the ground as possible. At least she went in, if only for a short time.

And finally to apple picking! Hannah was quite the multi-tasker, picking and eating at the same time.

Joe picked the "perfect" apple!

Roaming the orchards.

Our 1/2 bushel is almost full! Hannah insisted on carrying it....well trying to anyway.

Meanwhile Emme has yet to pick even 1 apple and preferred to spend the time eating her extra large apple that Daddy picked for her. (The girls both have Hannah's new Hello Kitty walkie talkies on their wrists)

We finally convinced her to pick an apple and she discovered it was really fun!

Running to Daddy with more apples!

And we're done...a 1/2 bushel full of apples!

After a quick stop walking through the pumpkin patch...

we stopped for some apple cider and cider donuts...yummy.

When we got home, Hannah and I made apple crisp for dessert tonight! Double yum! And our 1/2 bushel looks like we haven't even touched it...hmmm...lots of ideas for apples this week!
