Time for a big girl bed

Last week Hannah perfected the art of climbing out of her crib every day after nap time so yesterday was spent getting her a new "big girl" bed. But before we left, Joe and Hannah had to read the newspaper (they were sitting in the middle of the floor because the sun was hitting the couch and we still don't have window treatments in the addition).

Back to the bed. She was very excited to go pick out her bed and kept saying she wanted a "pink" bed...hmmm.

As luck would have it (bad luck is still luck), Ikea actually has a pink bed (really, what are the chances of that?). Luckily, we were able to steer her away from the pink bed and opted instead for a white one (Mommy's choice). What we couldn't steer her away from was her choice of bedding. Mommy found a really cute one and I tried my hardest to convince her, but she would have none of it. She knew what she wanted. She didn't even listen to reason when I tried to explain that her room is purple and the duvet cover she chose had no purple in it. Of course, we weren't getting the pink bed so I gave in to her choice of duvet covers (begrudgingly).

Right after nap time, Daddy put together the new bed.

Again, she couldn't have been more excited! Here she is demonstrating how she is going to sleep in it.

We were somewhat worried come bedtime, but literally she was an angel.

She went right to sleep and had no problems! And since she's used to having her door shut at night, mommy and daddy didn't have to worry about roaming the house at night. Such a big girl!
